Day 3, Week 1

For breakfast P and C had rice cereal.  I like white rice.  White rice is a lot cheaper at Costco, like a third as much per pound.  But there is no fiber and it is a less whole food.  When we first decided to use brown rice rather than white I had to have no white rice option in the house.  Now I can have both and be fine - but as a quality food?  I think brown trumps.  Though it make some interesting diapers if you have a toddler.

Dai and I fasted.  This is her second fast Sunday.  For the first few months she is only fasting one meal.  We read a couple fasting scriptures beforehand.  We open and close together.  Today she looked up "Fasting" in the Topical Guide for us and looked up the second scripture.  We are using her scriptures.  A side benefit is that she may become more familiar with her scriptures this way, too.

For lunch we are having Zatarain's Red Beans and Rice.  It is my Kraft Macaroni and Cheese.  My box convenience food.  It is delicious and convenient but not as cheap as mac'n'cheese - and not as readily available. We also ate one of the boxes of campari's.  Sliced in half with salt and pepper.  About a pound (got a really good deal but they are definitely the end of the season kind of flavor.)

For dinner I have freezer goulash cooking in the crock pot.  I put in too much noodles.  So it may be dry.  But after the BBQ chicken recipe from that same site I am not too optimistic.

Boy! It was not good.  The girls picked at it.  I served a slice of bread and butter to each.  Bread machine challa - all white as we are currently out of wheat.  Man - it is good bread.  Add 2-3 tablespoons of gluten - magnifico!  We will need to eat the other half tomorrow - not looking forward to that.  We ate another pound of campari's.

For lunch and dinner we had "orange drink" (which is some calorie free vitamin drink I got at Costco awhile ago) or milk.  Dai loves orange drink.  Phyllis doesn't like it and Cress is kind of mixed.  I rarely offer milk but did twice today.

I also ate a couple of Gouda cheeses.  They are so good, but with the budget we will see less of them I guess.  Or maybe I will splurge on them.  Truthfully - would be better than the chocolate pomegranate things.  I just love the Gouda.

I like rehashing the food, it causes me to think about it - but at the end of the day today I am kind of tired.  These could become pretty factual and brief pretty quickly.
