Well, tomorrow I can shop but I still have quite a bit of food. I need produce and maybe a gallon of milk. I need also a lot of staples type stuff.
We have bread flour but no all-purpose flour. Jason likes unbleached all-purpose which they do not sell in bulk at Costco. I need brown rice. I need baking powder and paprika. I need cinnamon and garlic powder and chicken bullion. See? Staple stuff. Bulk stuff for which I go to Winco. The nearest one is in Brentwood. I guess the one in Vacaville is actually 25 miles further but I often go see cousins in Vacaville or Dixon so it makes it well worthwhile.
For breakfast the girls had rice cereal. They wanted leftover pizza but I couldn't find it (assumed Jason had taken it) but since he didn't they will have it for after school snack. I had eggs and toast after a walk.
For lunch I had a chicken salad sandwich. That's four slices of challa today for me. Jason took leftover goulash and apples to work for lunch. Cress had her leftover mac-n-cheese from dinner last night and some mango, prunes and pretzels. Dai and Phyllis took mac-n-cheese muffins, prunes, celery, and a tomato. Who took what exactly I do not know. They also each took a bag of Skittles.
For dinner I cooked the freezer BBQ chicken meal. Not that excellent but we need to eat it. I will make rice and serve with steamed zucchini.
We did eat BBQ chicken - Jason was not impressed ("Do crock pot chefs have taste buds?") but he already knew we were finishing it up but not planning to do it again. We served it over rice and we sliced the rest of the tomatoes. The zucchini was done a little too late and didn't get eaten.
Meal Plan for Next Week:
Sa - leftovers
Su - Potato Soup
M - Pinto Bean Soup
T - Shredded Cuban Beef (need tortillas and 8 oz. can of tomato sauce)
W - Black Bean Layers (need rice)
Th - Beaker Soup
F - Fiesta Taco Bake - need 8 oz. can of tomato sauce, will use elbow noodles we already have rather then radiatore it calls for and we have historically used
Sa - Baked Ziti (need penne)
Su - leftovers
As you can see, I need milk, some produce and little else but this is good because I need all the Winco stuff.
